2020 Public Works Training School
October 20-21, 2020
After thoughtful consideration, NYCOM's Annual Public Works School that was planned for Saratoga, October 19-21, will not be held as an in-person event. Instead, we are transforming this year's Public Works School into a first-class virtual event, October 20-21.
This decision is a difficult one, but is being done in keeping the health and safety of our members, the municipal vendor community, and NYCOM staff the top priority. Additional factors also worked against holding an in-person event, including the 50-person limit on gatherings, budget and travel restrictions, personal health concerns, and uncertainty over what future State-imposed COVID-related guidance will entail.
We have a lot in store for this year's version of Public Works School, including the ability to earn water and wastewater certification credits. We’ll bring you all the details in the coming weeks as we further develop and finalize the program with our conference partners at the NY Water Environment Association and NYS Department of Health.
We appreciate your ongoing support of municipal government and welcome any feedback or questions you may have. Please stay tuned for announcements regarding Virtual Public Works School and we hope you will choose to participate. Meanwhile, stay healthy and we'll see you next month.

This popular annual training school is coordinated by a dedicated group of public works professionals. We are currently looking to recruit a few more committee members to assist NYCOM in planning future conferences.
